If you want to do a Windows reinstallation process, either installing Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10, then you need a Bootable or Windows installer. The Windows installer can be a CD / DVD or Flashdisk. But now most of them use flashdisks as USB Installers because the latest Notebooks aren't accompanied by CD / DVD readers. In order for your Flashdik to be used for the Windows installation process, then you must make it Bootable USB first.

What is Bootable USB?
Booatble USB or Bootable Flashdisk is a Flashdisk that the Windows installer has inserted into it. Bootable Flashdisk will later be used as a tool to install Windows. The type of flashdisk that can be made into Bootable USB is any type of ordinary Flashdisk, as long as it is still usable and not damaged. Falshdisk that has been made into Bootable USB can still be used as another data storage.

How to make Bootable USB for Windows installation
There are many choices that can be made if you want to make a Bootable UEFI USB for Windows installation, you can use Rufus Software and you can without using any software This tutorial will only discuss how to make a Bootable USB or Flashdisk installer for Windows installation using Rufus Software. All right, just how to make a Bootable USB or Flashdisk Bootable with Rufus software:

Step 1
Prepare the tools and materials needed, namely a minimum 4 GB Flashdisk, a Windows ISO file that will be installed as well as Rufus software.
 
Step 2
Connect the USB Flashdisk to the computer.

Step 3
Run Rufus Software.

Step 4
Set the settings as shown below.

In point 1, please select your USB Flashdisk.
In point 2, please change the partition scheme and target system to the MBR partition scheme for BIOS and UEFI.
In point 3, please enter the flashdisk label / name as you wish.
In point 5, please select your Windows ISO file by clicking on the disk icon.
In point 6, please click start to begin the process of making a bootable Flashdisk.



Step 5

Wait until the loading process for making Bootable is complete, after that you can already use it to install Windows.
